Catching Up and Resolved to Sew

This was one of those days I seemed to spend much of my time catching up. Catching up with a good friend over a cup of tea. Catching up with emails because I fell way behind again. If I missed yours - apologies - I sort of zoned out after a while. I also caught up on a few more bird blocks for One for the Birds. I now have twelve thirteen fourteen blocks in total. It's a start.

My favourite from today is most definitely this one -

I also notices, in the process of reading and replying to emails, that a number of you differed in my opinion of how hideous my Christmas fabric was. I will now stop hiding the truly fugly ones behind the more palatable ones and show you the horrid truth. There really are some crackers in there!

Now, if any of you have a hankering after the above I am more than happy to swap some for some Heather Ross or bird fabric. Trust me on this, I would give you great big pieces of these fuglies in return for small pieces of coveted fabric. Just a thought!

Last, but so not least, you probably will have noticed that there is the most amazing giveaway going on over at Very Berry Handmade. Everyone is blogging about it. And that's because it is a giveaway that beats most giveaways. Well, it's also because we all love Ali and her blog, and she's hanging out with us over at Mouthy Stitches. (Cindy and I are thrilled to be hanging out with the cool bloggers - Hadley always was cool.) The Resolved to Sew giveaway shouldn't be missed. Nor should the Very Berry Handmade blog. So off you scoot and go have a look. I'm all done here.

  2. Oh birdie blocks are coming along nicely! I wouldn't say all those fabrics are fugly - the wee Christmas trees are cute, but alas, I've no Heather Ross to give you. Will keep my eye open for some birdies though! Jxo

  3. I still think I have uglier Christmas fabrics than you lol - or at least some that must have come from the same design stable as these ones lol!

I am loving your birdie blocks!

  4. Will look for bird fabric in exchange for the fugly snowwy tree fabric??

The rest, I'm afraid, offends my eyes.

LOL...OK, some are "not so lovely" (I have some "what was I thinking" fabrics too...LOL) But I like the red with the trees, and the white with the trees from the first posts, also from the first post the bottom snowy scenic looking one didn't look TOO bad.LOVE the red bird! SO pretty! I have no Heather Ross (or don't know I if do...LOL)However, I will tell you that these bird blocks are starting to inspire me...How do you plan to put them together? Inquiring minds...LOL

  16. It`s good to catch up isn`t it...and now that you`re playing with the cool kids, us not so cool kids will never see you! No, you can keep your Christmas fabric thanks...and have no HR anyway. Perhaps that`s because I`m not cool?

  18. What, you want rid of those dancing snowmen? Why on earth would you want to do that? ;o)

I do love the new birdies though...

  19. I just love your bird blocks. The red one is my favourite, too, although the yellow and green come close after.

  20. I'm a bit behind on blog reading too! I love the birdies.
Sadly I too have equally ugly christmas fabric! Bought early on in my fabric buying career to make Christmas Owl bunting. Looks good on the owls, but I;ve no idea what to do with the rest!
