I Have Succumbed

Yup, I have succumbed to the Zakka bug. Just how long did you think I could hold out? Honestly, is there anyone out there that hasn't posted photos of absolutely gorgeous makes using the designs from this book?

I haven't even had time to properly peruse it yet, but I am excited because if I can make things like the rest of you are making - this has to be a good thing. No more jealousy. Time to join in.

The postman also brought my name tag for the FQ Retreat. It was made by Carol, who I look forward to meeting at the Retreat. She was thrown in the deep end for this swap I think, as it was her very first one. Therefore it amazes me how well she has done. Because I got not one, but two wonderful name tags. One on a lanyard and one with a pin - so I can choose which to use according to what I am wearing, etc.

Love the ribbon used for the lanyard.

Not only did she send me two name tags but Carol included these lovely place mats too. I feel like I have been totally spoiled. Thank you, Carol!

Meanwhile, I have no sewing to brag about. I have done a little on my Stitch Tease block but I am not allowed to show that here as it is all top secret until next year when each person in the bee receives their pieced quilt top. All  very hush hush and exciting beyond words.

I am down to one sick child at home. One sick car still at the garage. But it is a long weekend, and I am taking Emily to London tomorrow. That will break the monotony!

  1. I haven't. As in I haven't got the book yet.
BUT it's on it's way. Along with THREE others. Yes I may have got a bit carried away hehehe...
Bet they'll arrive after I've left knowing our mail though. That will highly annoy me!

  3. I'm not going to give in to the Zakka Style goodness. I have too many other things I need to finish and start. I will watch with delight as you work your way through the book.

  7. I love those tags! The trouble is, I'm now feeling guilty / silly for not signing up to the name tag swap. I will be the only one there without a handmade nametag. Oh well, I am so very busy at the moment I think I will be forgiven.

And the zakka thing is weighing on my mind too. In all honesty I can't possibly start any projects at the moment, but if only my brain could catch upwith reality!!

I will have to live vicariously through your projects! Looking forward to meeting you at the retreat! x

  10. I couldn't help myself buying it either! It was in my amazon shopping cart for weeks and then all these pretties started popping up on Flickr.

  11. I was put off from buying it because of how long Amazon said it would take to get the book. Then I noticed The Book Depositary were shipping straight off and much cheaper so I succumbed. Book has been despatched and I'm eager for it to arrive!

  16. Welcome to the club Susan... It's addictive but as the projects are small they don't take long to make.

  21. I too got the Zakka book in my hot little hands a few days ago. Doubt I will join the SAL and make everything, but there are some things I will make...the only trouble is everywhere seems to be sold out of Robert Kaufman Essex linen in natural. Please let us know if you find a source?
